Rudy Bolo (aka Rude Hi-Fi)

Rude (Bologna, Italy) releases his brand new single with Liquidator Music label from Madrid, under his new nick name ‘Rudy Bolo’. This new disc is entitled ‘Trenta Soldi d’Argento’ and it’s a love tribute to his master and big influence Prince Buster and all the Rude Boy culture.

This new single features two songs: ‘Trenta Soldi d’Argento’ and the Hammond instrumental version '30 Soldi Boss Hammond Version', recorded at La Panchita (Barcelona) by producer Chalart 58 and the musicians Victor Laguna Gandía (drums), Daniel Alonso aka Daniel Mitoo (piano and Hammond), Ignasi Bullich (bass), Albert Vilardell (guitar), Carmen Martinez Suquía (trumpet), Miquel Mata (tenor sax), Josep Blanes (trombone) and Matha (backing vocals).

Rude is a legendary Italian underground artist, singer and founder of the iconic Punk /Oi Rock’n’Roll ‘Ghetto 84’ band, formed in 1984. Grown up and taught in the Rude Boy and Skinhead culture since 1982, and DJ and sound system operator as Rude Hi-Fi.

He was also part of La Kinky Beat band and leaded other projects like Rude & The Lickshots, has worked as mixer and collaborator with Fermin Muguruza, Manu Chao, Obrint Pas, Asian Dub Foundation, Banda Bassotti, La Bolonchona, Roy Paci & Aretuska, etc.

Besides of his musical career he has always been a big fan of original Boss Reggae and Ska being a good friend of Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster or Rico Rodriguez, based in London for several years, very near to Dub Vendor record store, where he used to spend every penny he earned in 7” from Trojan, Pama, Studio One, Blue Beat etc.

He has performed hundreds of concerts and DJ sets, from Glastonboury (UK) to Fuji Rock Festival (Japan) besides of the whole Europe, Brazil and Mexico.

His discography features 7 albums before releasing this new single released by Liquidator Music.

A Rudy Bolo Sound System show is a real party where all the musical subculture sounds get together, from Boss Reggae to Original Ska, 2 Tone, Northern Soul, Boogaloo & wild R&B… In Italy his DJ sets are known as “authentic vintage sound al dente”.
